Dr Susan Wardell

Dr Susan Wardell is lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Otago, and an award-winning writer.

She lives in Ōtepoti Dunedin, as Tangata Tiriti, with her partner and two children. Her research, writing, and art seek to explore topics such as emotion, care, digital sociality, health and disability, and mental health, including in relation to climate distress.

Susan is co-facilitating the Feeling our way through crisis: a workshop on navigating ecological distress masterclass and speaking at the Climate Solutions Cafe at the Wao Summit 2024.
