John McRae, a third-generation farmer at Glendhu Station in Wānaka, is renowned for his innovative and sustainable farming practices.

Spanning 1,300 hectares, Glendhu Station showcases John's commitment to organic and biological farming methods, prioritising soil health, biodiversity, and minimal environmental impact.

John's initiatives have included raising free-range eggs, organic beef cattle, and pioneering large-scale composting to enrich soil health and minimise waste. His vision extends beyond traditional farming, as he has diversified Glendhu Station to host community events and activities like the sustainable Bike Glendhu park, promoting environmental stewardship and local engagement.

John will be hosting the Food Resilience Day and running his own masterclass at the Wao Summit 2024.
