What inspired you to start your sustainability journey?

Founder and Principal Consultant Dr Carly Green started Environmental Accounting Services over 15 years ago to help progress International Development and Impact that she has a passion for. This passion started when she completed her Environmental Engineering Degree at Monash University more than two decades ago.

This degree helped shape who Carly is today and inspired her to complete her PHD on Practical Implementation of Greenhouse Gas Policy at a National Level at the University College Dublin, which focused on helping to understand how the land sector, particularly forestry could report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change under the Kyoto Protocol, which has now become the Paris Agreement. Her PHD cemented her passion and drive for environmental change.

What does your company do that makes a difference?

Our team bring an international lens to a local level. Our clients benefit from this experience and know that when they work with us, we bring a global approach to our advice and guidance. We go beyond carbon credits to look at how our clients can make a real tangible difference to their impact on the environment.

Where would you see change in the future?

We would like to see originations take real action to reduce climate change and beyond just box ticking. We want to ensure the information they need to do this is as accessible and understandable as possible so that we can collectively meet our Paris Agreement obligations, and reduce climate change overall.
